Locking is a dance born from funk music, created by Don Campbell in the early 1970s. A style full of groove, musicality, expression and personality, with its own language where not only what you do matters, but how you dance it and how you connect with the music and its structure.
At Future we work on Locking from its foundations and its essence, understanding where it comes from in order to develop its tools and help each dancer use them naturally within their own dance.
The programme goes beyond learning steps: we work on technique, freestyle, musicality, stage presence and other disciplines that complement and expand our movement.
Technique
Development of foundations, grooves and vocabulary to build a solid base and understand the language of Locking.
Freestyle
Tools to connect with the language spontaneously, with structure, with personality, and to naturalise the style within your movement.
Jazz Rock & Soul Dance
Work on musicality, footwork, essence and connection with the music through disciplines that enrich and complement our dance.
Stage Training
Presence, interpretation and performance to learn to take our dance beyond training and defend it on stage.
Guest Teachers
Throughout the programme we have special sessions with guest teachers who bring new tools and perspectives to the training process. Guest teachers: Ainara Prieto, Guillem Ripoll and Sheka.
